St. Julians

Neighbourhood policing is at the heart of our approach to keeping Gwent safe. Our PCSOs and officers are proud to be integral parts of the communities they serve.

We want to ensure our neighbourhood policing is as efficient and effective as it can be, and our aim is to be the best in the country at understanding and responding to the needs and priorities of each individual community. Your local neighbourhood policing team is made up of officers and PCSOs based in your area who are both visible and accessible.

Fundamental to our model of neighbourhood policing is engaging with our communities: connecting with individuals, organisations, businesses, schools, workplaces and others; working to understand, respond to, and tackle your concerns and priorities; and putting measures in place to prevent issues from escalating – or from occurring in the first place.

By working together and focusing on early intervention, prevention and problem solving, we can find long-term solutions to local problems.

Please note that to report a crime or incident to Gwent Police, you can visit Home | Gwent Police or in an emergency, please dial 999.

Local Priority Issues

We regularly speak to local residents to establish what issues they may be experiencing in the area. The word cloud below represents the issues that residents of St. Julians have highlighted as priorities for the area recently (including some that say “I have no issues”).

Word clouds are graphical representations of word frequency that give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently. The larger the word in the visual below the more common the word was in the local survey.

We seek to tackle the issues raised in line with our Local Policing Plan.
